About us
At NeuralStudio, we’re a team of product-focused innovators dedicated to turning complex technology into beautifully simple and highly effective tools. We believe technology can be a powerful force for good in our lives, and it’s our mission to create AI-powered products that genuinely serve and empower people.
Our focus is on building utility-driven AI apps that simplify everyday tasks, amplify productivity, and enhance the way we interact with the world. From AI-powered photography tools like NeuralCam and NeuralPix to personal finance and organizational solutions like Dollarbird and NeuralBox, our products are designed to blend cutting-edge AI with intuitive user experiences.
We see smartphones as the ideal platform for delivering the full potential of AI-powered tools. These devices, already in the hands of billions worldwide, offer the perfect combination of powerful hardware and accessibility. By creating thoughtful, user-centric software, we aim to unlock the possibilities of on-device AI, making technology that feels not only smart but also personal.
We’re committed to crafting tools that inspire, empower, and simplify — always keeping people at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s enhancing creativity, organizing daily life, or streamlining complex tasks, our mission is to put AI to work for everyone in a meaningful and impactful way.
The two founders started experimenting with mobile apps, initially on Symbian (Nokia S60), under the Halcyon Mobile Development name
Using some tricks with compression we were able to send text messages that contained more information than the 140 character limit (up to even 400 characters) and set custom backgrounds and emojis. Of course, the recipient had to have the app as well but that's no different to most messaging apps today. We also shortened the name of the company to Halcyon Mobile
Launched a couple of J2ME and web apps during these year with some great feedback from our users but no commercial success.
With the opening up of the iTunes App Store (and Android Market, later Google Play) we jumped on the opportunity and launched a couple of entertainment apps and made our first revenue from the app stores.
Our biggest endeavour yet with a whole team of engineers and designers working on the project, Dollarbird is a novel way to approach personal finance by managing your money in a familiar calendar format. Launched in 2012 to critical acclaim. Also, won our first mFWA.
We shifted from multiple small new apps each year to multi-year complex products. With MimeChat we tried to spice up the everyday chat experience with the help of avatars that played out the messages you typed.
Renamed the app studio side of the business to Halcyon Products and started investing in AI. We built out our own training infrastructure and a dedicated AI engineering team.
With a clear mission we built up a tech pipeline to capture and brighten photos in dark environments with results on par with Google Camera's night mode capturing. We packaged this pipeline into an iOS app, called it NeuralCam Night Mode and released it in Aug 2019 as a paid app and it immediately became a hit with our users. Because of the brand awereness that NeuralCam achieved we just started referring to the entire app studio as NeuralCam apps.
During this challening period of lockdowns and global political unrest we continued building AI tech and packaged it in a handful of apps each bolstering our app portfolio and showcasing our tech stack.
Since our active app portfolio became much wider than just NeuralCam we changed our name to NeuralStudio and with a renewed mission started building out Easter Europe's most significant app studio. Our most recent additions are NeuralBox (utility photo storage) and NeuralPix (a free AI photo editor).
